So I'm going to make SUBSTACK my "thinks and ideas" home

(but even though I'll be posting frequently, you'll only get this email every Friday)

Hey!

So today I relaunch my podcast CONFIDENT CONTENT

I’ve been doing a lot of big thinking, and big experimenting with how I want to use content - not only for my business but for ME

I’ve never created with a sole focus of “get the clients”

It’s cost me to be honest.

I dance and shift and move with what I’m thinking about

I’ve now got some structure in my marketing (and it works! Who knew???) But I don’t want to miss that desire to explore and reflect and document

A wee sum up of what’s below:

  1. I’m going to post most weekdays on Substack from next week

  2. I’ll only push it out to you as an email subscriber on Fridays and on some Wednesdays so you don’t get overloaded

  3. I’d love you to listen to my podcast this week as three eps just dropped

  4. I’d love your comments/ thoughts and questions

And that’s where SUBSTACK comes in

So I’m going to start posting content I used to post almost on the daily on Linkedin on here - like a journal of THINKS.

the more I sit with it, the more I realise this space just feels right.

People keep asking, why Substack? (Ok by people I mean SEL - Hi Sel!) Why not just put everything on social media or my own blog?

Fair question. Having a space that isn’t directly tied to my website or “SOCIAL” social media gives me a bit more room to breathe. It lets me share the full picture, what I’m working on, what’s taking up space in my brain, and the bits that don’t always fit neatly into what the algorithms want.

My business, my marketing, and who I am as a person have always been completely tangled up together.

I can’t talk about one without talking about the others. And I love that. But I also want somewhere to go a little deeper, test ideas, and have actual conversations with the people who genuinely want to be part of them.

This is not a breaking up with social media post - for a start I consider Substack social media too! But it is me saying that I want a space where I can think out loud, work things through in real-time, and share what’s really going on behind the scenes.

So if you’ve been wondering why here?, that’s why. It just makes sense for where I am right now.

You won’t be getting daily emails from me

I’m also aware that I also don’t want to flood YOU with content if you are a subscriber

So I’m going to do something that is very unwise from a marketing perspective

But every wise with how I sit as a person I would feel I’m overwhelming you

So when I go to post I’m going to OPT OUT of you getting an email update of it if you subscribe EXCEPT on Fridays (and the occaisionaly Wednesday when the SMALL BUSINES SPODCAST come out

All my other posts are at the mercy of being found….

Which really is no different to Linkedin really but at least here… it’s in a place I feel a bit more free.

Is this a good idea Rachel?

Oh look - I DON’T KNOW

I’m testing this

I might decide I’m hating it

but it feels right. It’s going to be weird for a bit. But I think I need to try this.

For me. Not to build some massive magical following. (that stuff is so bloody exhausting!)

Oh and about those podcast episodes..

Three new episodes dropped today

On all good podcast platforms

AND- also on WWW.CONFIDENTCONTENTPODCAST.COM

Plus…

If you prefer YOUTUBE - We’ve got full vidoe eps now

I’d love it you have a listen - I’m so excited about this relaunch - I’ve got more episodes planned out and prepped than I have time to record at the moment!

So..

Thoughts? Think this is marketing suicide? Or genuis move? Don’t really care? Glad I’m not going to be snedin you daly emails? Or damn disapppointed? Love to hear your thoughts in the comments

Rachel
